County of North Jutland
The County of North Jutland stretches from Mariager Fjord in the south to "Grenen" in the north. Covering an area of more than 6,000 square kilometres, the County of North Jutland is the largest county in Denmark. Close to half a million inhabitants are distributed in the region's 27 municipalities.
The County of North Jutland is not just the name of a region; it is also a public organization. The work and the functions it performs at regional level lie between that of the state and the local level municipalities. The County of North Jutland has about 17,000 employees and is thus one of North Jutland's largest workplaces. The county has an annual budget of approximately 1.3 billion EUR.
The region of North Denmark is a region of high-tech industry in general. The region is characterized by comprehensive and fruitful co-operation between the public and the private sector. Apart from the conventional industry, shipyard and offshore, fishery and farming, the region is also one of the most attractive and popular tourist destinations in Denmark.
