The Municipality of Aalborg
Aalborg is the main city in North Jutland and is the fourth largest city in Denmark (there are 161,000 inhabitants in the Municipality of Aalborg). The city of Aalborg emerged where the Limfjord was narrowest and consequently easiest to cross. The history of the city dates back at least 1000 years.
Today, educational institutions, tourism and high-tech companies working within the fields of electronics, telecommunications and IT have to a great extent replaced the conventional industries which previously dominated the look of the city with their smoking chimneys.
North Sea Partnership 2006 takes place in the center of Aalborg at the Aalborg Congress & Culture Centre.
